My son, who's going to college, was rear-ended on an icy road a couple of days ago. Trunk, rear bumper, at least one quarter panel toast. The car belonged to my BIO before we bought it, so we know the history. It's great on gas--around 32 mpg highway. The insurance adjuster is supposed to look at it Tuesday. Year, damage, etc. will probably total it. Without a picture, would it be worth having a shop do the minimum to get it legal and drivable? I probably can't replace it for the same cost and know what I'm getting. Any advice? Four cars in the accident and his took the worst hit. Not fair, but that's life. I asked himhow he'd like to have a job and family and be in the same boat?
