First of all did a mechanic replace the thermostat or did you, If installed backwards it would flow through constantly thus preventing engine heating. I have also seen thermostats that were bad meaning they had a weak spring from the factory.It should be easy to tell if its a thermostat problem, just take the cap off the radiator when you first start the vehicle, and see if it is circulating anti-freeze. If it is, the problem is in the thermostat. It should only circulate when it gets warm enough for the thermostat to open. Another posssibility would be what kind of temperatures are you having at your location. I have an 87 jeep cherokee 2.8 V6 with aluminum block & heads. When the weather gets below zero it rarely gets warmif driven less than 20 miles. Hope this helps
