Having tractor trouble. 6 degrees with windchill of -20. Had tractor in barn with block heater and magnet heater on oil pan. I've used the addative in the fuel to prevent gelling. Tractor started but seemed to smoke a bit more than normal. Rolled ahead for about 10 feet and the tractor seemed to lose power. I added power and the motor died. Put propane heater on fuel filter for a while. The tractor started and seemed to be fine. Got about 200 yards out in the pasture and it lost power and died again. Put 911 in the fuel filter. Took of line from transfer pump to tank and blew compressed air through it in case it had water frozen in it. Took off the line from transfer pump to filter. It was not pluged. When I turned it over with the line off the transferr pump seemed to be pumping fuel OK. Rented some extension cords from the renta center. Put the block heater and pan heater back on. After it had warmed up the block I tried to start it but it will not fire. I sprayed starting fluid in the intake. It will turn over and eventually fire but only runs for a couple seconds till the ether is gone. What have I missed? Not totally sure I am priming it correctly after I removed the filter. Does the diesel look milky when it is gelled? How do I get it started????? Thanks guys
