I have lost a few good ones. One a calico female that was the best mouser I ever saw! She was very small even though fully grown, but ate 12 mice in a row in less than 3 min. I never saw anything like it! She attacked the nest and had one pinned under each paw and swallowed them whole and would eat one from under the paw and smack down another. Poor thing turned into a butterball and could hardly walk! We think a hawk got her as we saw a hawk carrying something off in the distance and we never saw her again. Lost another last year. Black and white with a mustache. Was wild when he showed up, but soon tamed down and was a good buddy. He would sit on the wood pile and watch me work and when I took a break he came over to get rubbed. He also would sleep on my chest when I would take a snooze at 3 in the afternoon. That really puts me to sleep! He got ran over by a dumba$$ who was flying all over town in a beatup old ford pickup doing burnouts.word must have got out that I was madder than a hornet as the guy and his truck disappaered from town. We had another cat show up here two weeks after chuck got hit. call him tater as he like potatos, but also call him punkin for his color. He alwasy sleeps at my feet while I am on the couch and get this, he is housebroke! goes to the door and meows to go poop, good deal as I don"t even have a litterbox anymore! He also watches me work from the wood pile and comes over to get rubs. He is a good mouser and last fall he sat by the stove for two days. I kept wondering why, till he nailed what he knew was there. Got him to shake hands too! I hope you find a good one Glenn. If you get lucky maybe a good one will show up at your door!

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
