I have a 1949 Case LA that has freeze damage. The first thing we found was the radiator tank busted. I had that repaired and reinstalled it. When we started filling the radiator and I checked the oil level getting ready to start it water was going straight into the block. We removed the valve cover and the two side plates to find out where it is coming from. The head was busted inside between cylinders 3 and 4. We did not see any other damage than in that area. However, before I checked the oil level and after putting enough water in the radiator to sink the Titanic, water was seeping from the flange where the engine block and transmission bolts together. Do you feel I may have addittional damage other than the head and the now repaired radiator? We were thinking it was doing this because of the massive amount of water in the block. We were also thinking we may be able to put a high temp sealer like Permatex around the flange. I cannot afford another tractor at this time but do not want to invest money in a non repairable tractor as well. I want to thank each of you that have given advice to me and spent your time helping me. This could possibly be the last post I will be putting up on these pages if you feel it is now junk. If you have experienced this as well, what did you do? did you scrap or repair? It is my fault the tractor froze. I do have a viable excuse but as they say, excuses are like your rear end, everyone has one and they all stink. :) Thank you again --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
