tractor dies suddenly

I have a 1953 ford jubilee
the tractor starts and runs well. It might preform
for 30-40mins then it dies like someone turned the
key off.
the engine almost always restarts immediately.
It might run for 5 mins or 20 mins before dying again.
The engine does not spit or sputter or hestiate
the fuel filter was replaced in 2000 and the fuel
tank drained and cleaned...
It dies so fast i do not think it is a fuel problem
any suggestions
