I am not very familier with 3 point hitches and my "new" machines hydraulics (a late 70's, 186HP AC 7580 4 Wheel Drive). My old tractor is a 20 HP with a 2 point hitch. I need to move some serious material (heavy clay and old barn foundations) which was one of the main reasons for purchasing a much larger tractor. I have a heavy blade (only 8' but well built). Whenever I take a bite of clay (say six inches deep) the hitch is reacting and raising the lift arms within about 3 feet of forward movement. If the clay is stiff (not dry but not soft enough to allow easy reentry of the blade) I lose my cut and must start a new cut. How do I adjust the hydraulics to do some "real" work? At this point my old 20 HP Farmall with a 4 foot belly blade can do better.
