Well the week started out with rotton wintery weather. I was forced to cansel the pour scheduled for Tue. afternoon. I decided that I would be better off giving the field a couple of days to dry out, (didn't need to pay a big towing bill) I also came equiped with plan B, my Kubota 4WA with loader, to cary the concrete in if the truck couldn't make it in and out. Concrete was scheduled for 1:00PM on Fri. At 1:30 and no truck yet, I called Dispatch. They told me that 3 drivers from the Catskill plant called in sick that morning. (Must have been fair weather Friday Flue) Any way they sent drivers from Oneonta where my load was scheduled from to cover down there. My 5Yds finally arrived at 3:45. Had a good driver who got in and out with no problems. I pour the complete foundation hole without forms so there is no undisturbed soil around the footing. The KX41 makes digging a precise hole easy in most conditions. I did the back fill on the ditch Wed. It was 30" deep. The wire I ran for this project is 4 strands of AWG 4 copper stranded, in 1" PVC conduit. As stated before the turbine and the PV micro Inverters convert DC to 240V AC current at the turbine site. Wire was a bit tight in conduit, but since I work alone I just slide the sections of conduit over the wire, rather than snaking it through the conduit later. Put about a ft. of dirt over the conduit, layed the Caution tape in and pushed in the rest of the fill. Still have 40' to go as I needed to leave a place where the truck could cross. I also had to run 4wireacross the garage in conduit, and then through a crawlspace, and across a celler to the Main breaker panal where it will conect to the bottom of the bussbars on their 200A service. This is where the alternative power backfeeds the home. I can't always hook this way with a system this size, due to Bussbar ratings in panals. All these factors have to be third party inspected, and then approved by the Power Provider, before the Net Meter is installed. This is a grid Intergrated system with no Battery backup. I need to give the Crete some cure time, about 10 days before I hinge up the tower with turbine installed. I will post some more details of the assembly next week. Also I put in a pic of a 2000w+ PV system simular to what will be installed next year here at this site.
