I have a 1943 or 1944 Farmall H. I am almost totally ignorant of the operation of this tractor and have no ownwers manual yet (one has been ordered. In the mean time I need to get my garden plowed). I hooked the hydraulic cylinder from my plow to the tractor (rod end to the left side connector; rod end to atmosphere). I was able to raise the plow, but I have not been able to figure out how to lower it. The plow linkage is not bound up (determined by driving one of the pins out of the cylinder eye after which the plow linkage collapsed to the ground. I seem to have pressure on the left side connection from the tractor which I cannot relieve even after removing the quick connect there is pressure in the system. The head end of the cylinder is vented. Can someone kindly let me in on the secret of the hydraulic operation of this tractor (clutch out to raise clutch in to release??? why the detent in the controll lever with the clutch in???, or do I have a valve problem? Thank you very much
