Farmall Super M Exhaust Manifold Getting Cherry Hot!!!!

Just purchased this Super M (had not been run in approx. 7 years), and after extensive work on Carb,new points, plugs, cap and the works in carb, exhaust manifold is getting cherry hot when under a load. This never happens to my AV's, is this normal for a Super M or is something wrong?
