Why is there no power at my coil and ignition switch? I have spent the last day and a half (with many interuptions and side problems)trying to get my Super A up and running. About a week ago I was digging some furrows to plant potatoes and as I got to the end of a row, I lowered the throttle and she stalled out. I figured it was something simple (ha ha ha) like a tune up and towed her to my shop, hasn't run since. I opened up the valve cover and a rod was off it's rocker arm (undamaged), I was hoping that I could just adjust the valves and it would be fine. Well I did that and now I have no spark at all. Also, before i tuned it up I replaced a Wico magneto with a IH distributor (it is from a 1950 SA, the one I am currently working on is a 1949). I tested the wire from the switch to the coil and it is fine. I put new points, condenser, plug wires, cap and rotor in and set the points correctly. The coil tested good. Also, if I am suppossed to have power at the coil, what should the voltage be? should it only show voltage if the switch is on (I tried both on and off) ??? Any help will be much appreciated.
