Actually, if you didn't give the old M much time to get warm, it isn't going to run well, particulary a higher compression M. Those engines just can't swallow the output of that carb until they get warm. When trying out a tractor you may feel an urge to move along quickly, more so than at home if it was yours. I would say forget road gear for at least 5 minutes, or it will just confuse you. RKS
