Super M hydraulics and oil change

I installed a Saginaw County Tractor Parts 3 pt. hitch this weekend but it will barely lift anything. I added SAE 30 oil to the two elbow outlets behind and next to the belt drive. Do those go to the hydraulic reservoir? If so, should the level be to the top of the lower elbow?
Also, anyone know what kind of oil and filter I should use for the engine?
