Dutch, No I didn't replace the pinion, It wasn't avaiable with the ring gear, the old pinon looks excellent, the old ring gear was probably ok had couple chips in the teeth out side edges, the mesh pattern using the prussion blue looks like factory setup.(lots of time to achive this.) just makes noise in reverse, quiet in all forward gears. Was told noise was caused by normal worn revese idler gear & revese gear? I really don't know THanks Dave F.
