Another consideration is the charging system. You can run with a positive ground when using a generator, but finding an alternator that will work in a positive ground configuration will be more difficult. It's easy to make the change, though. Just reverse the battery, reverse the coil, repolarize the generator.. and you should be in business. After changing to positive ground, you can add an alternator or electronic ignition at any time - no special, non standard, parts required.
