I have a 1968 International C200 engin gas (4 cyl). It was running fine the begining of this summer. Now after about 20 mins of work it stalls. Espically when running at lower RPMS. After it stalls it will not restart unless the choke is all the way closed. Then after it starts with the choke slightly open it will run for about 10 sec and die. If during this 10 sec I advance the throtle all the way, all kinds of black smoke comes out and it seams to be misfiring. IF I wait about 2 hrs, I can repeat this whole cylce. Since I have to choke it to start I think it is running to rich and getting flooded. What do you all think and how would you go about correcting the problem. Also could the main jet in the carb be causing any of this problem. I have it opened quite a bit ( my manual said it could not restrick any flow or problems would arise). Any help would be greatly appreshated.
