OK, I got my tractor, a 460U, runs fine and now I have a 4.5 acre weed patch that needs to be at least grass, but may be used for growing grapes in future. If not grapes it will be pasture for goat and llama and other yuppie exotic animals. How do I go about preparing it for grass? Here's the order I think it goes, but give your opinion. I'll be using borrowed implements. 1. buddy has a 3 pt. mount sprayer with 12 ft boom, use some sort 2,4D to knock down weeds. 2. different buddy has 3 bottom plow, 3. beg, borrow or steal a disk 4. different buddy has broadcast spreader for grass, 50% bluegrass, 25% rye, 25% mixed. 5. chain link fence (harrow) after seeding This the order? What is a good grass mixture? Thanks guys.
