So many ideas, so little time and money. I finally found a 2 spool hydraulic valve, one spool has floats. It is a Cross brand and I picked it up for $125 (marked down from $225). Now I am ready to mount my reservoir and find a pump. Also, I found a Farmhand F225 loader that I would like to buy and run off the live pump too. Would be really useful for the smaller jobs around here like pushing snow, running the hydraulic post hole digger, etc. A new idea crossed my mind in the last couple of weeks, how about running a shaft through the bolster with a U-joint? Would it be too much of an angle for a U-joint? I was wondering if anyone knew of a small U-joint that could handle the 1750 RPM and power to run a 12 to 15 GPM pump at 1500 psi? I figure I can mount a bearing and hanger up in the bolster to hold things steady. Mounting the pump out front is no problem either. Just wondering about the U-joint, maybe there is a possibility of finding a CV joint that would work? Has anyone done this or seen an H or M setup this way? My original idea was to run with a belt, but a belt won't handle what it takes to run the loader. Any opinions and ideas welcome!
