Speaking for myself I wouldn't dream of welding a nut on to that stud. You are almost certain to distort the surface of the block. I have an F-20 myself and to tell the truth, at that point I would cut my losses, seperate the block from the rest of the tractor, take it in to a machine shop and let the big boys handle it. Yes, it is going to be a colossal chore but I just never feel comfortable at a point like that to monkey around. I find that it is even a bigger chore to screw things up.
