Hello, Will be looking at buying a Farmall soon. I've narrowed it down to and H or M for mowing about 20 acres. Want to know a few things about the front end. Since I will be mowing hilly ground and maybe pushing snow so I want a wide front end. All I've ever seen around here is the tricycle front so I probably get one and convert it. How tough is it going to be to find a wide front? Are there aftermarket ones availible and about how much do they go for? Also can I fit an alternator under the hood for going to 12v? And would I want a single wire one like a Delco? Has anybody ever made a cab for an H or M? Would be nice for in the winter. Want to make it as user friendly as possible its going to get alot of work to do. Thanks, Greg

Pitfalls of Tractor Engine Rebuilds - by Chris Pratt. The first pop after you have put the machine together with your own hands is exciting and pleasing. The whole experience can be marred if one moves too fast and makes too many assumptions that they can just use "as is" some parts they should be closely scrutinizing and possibly attended to.
