It is a Delco-Remy alternator with internal regulator. I did install a new plug-in connector. The red wire is connected to the battery terminal on the alternator, along with the main wire connected to the left side of the amp meter. The white wire is connected through a toggle switch to the ignition switch. The toggle switch is to kill the alternator so that you can shut down the engine when you turn off the ignition switch. Otherwise, the feed back will keep the engine running even though the ignition switch is turned to the off position.
