Thanks Charlie, Engine oil is straight 30. A tune up is probably a place to start. The engine smokes black when it starts and leaves a black film from the exhaust when run hard. I need to put a qt of oil in about every 15-20 hours of operation. The tractor is in western MN and I'm in Mpls. So it will be a week or two till I can test the compression.
