I have a 1966 farmall 140 31311 J. 12 volt conversion. I bought new points, cond, spark plugs and wires.I pulled the distr. gear all the way out, is there a certain way to put it back in. This tractor ran well a few months ago, and now it tries to start but cant fire. is there a way to find out whats wrong.I have power to the push button starter and the starter works hard to fire but now fire to selinoid.I even ran a wire from the neg side of the selanoid to the starter and still no fire from the coil. I crank the engine until pressure pushes my finger off the number 1 plug and line up the coil button to the #1 plug and still no fire? what else can I do.
