Plowed it Fine

For those of you who gave me advise on "How To Plow" (10/6/99), quick update. Brought the reconditioned 2 X 16" JD #44 plow up to WI. Hooked her up to the 44'H and gave her a pull. First attempt, the spring hitch gave loose. Re-adjusted and tried her again. Novice operator aside, The ol-H pulled that 16" like it was cuttin butter. I only tried 1st gear but no problem. All sod and sandy soil, turned over fine. Whoever told me I can't plow the same area twice forgot to tell me why. After burying the plow behind two feet of fresh tilled sod/soil, I figured out why (new guys gotta learn some how). Don't know how she would pull the 16" in a different grade soil, but for those interested, Tractor earned an (A), Tractor driver earned a (C-). Thanks for all the advise.
