Things look nice and clean in picture but you can get mud inside those fittings. Try tapping from the tractor side of the fitting to be sure it is pushed all the way out to recieve the male tip. There is one snap ring at the rear which allows you to remove the whole unit in one piece. You can try another unit or switch over to a Pioneer set. IH used to sell a converter kit I assume it is still around. If tapping with the hammer helps make yourself a set of levers to push the body out a little further each time you hook up.
