Hi Bob, Thanks for your help. Going downhill the
RPM's vary. On the level, if I snap the throttle
from slow to fast the surging will sometimes stop. The carb linkage is set toward the carb as far as it will go and the clevis pin slides in smoothly. The alternator is new with an external
regulator. regulator has 1 wire going to BAT terminal, 1 wire going to GRD terminal and the
remaining 2 wires plug into the FLD outlet in the
alternator. There is a 10guage wire
running from the BAT terminal to the ammeter. The regulator is touchin the block due to a short fan belt, could this be the problem?
