I'm using a 6 volt with positive ground and the tractor has a magneto. I have grounded the field to the gen. terminals and the amp meter shows a charge. I think that means I need a new voltage regulator?? ( I took another voltage regular (condition unknown) and tried the same process and got the same results. Soe does this mean both of the voltage regulator are shot? If I have to buy a $40 regulator I might as well switch the tractor to an altenator. But I don't think I can make if fit under the hood of the H Farmall. I do not want to cut the hood. Sorry that I was not clear enought the first time. Dave
