Kpowl The solenoid is for shutting the gas off to the engine when you stop the engine.Most of the time when they fail the tractor just will not start. To fail after you put gas in would be coincidence I would think. About the only way to test is a new one. I have taken them off and put the old adjusting screw like 560.
