Interesting question, I've been researching the same problem. I have 2 41 Hs, and they have different starting switch setups. The one built around the end of July had the starter switch mounted in the rear fuel tank support, with a short rod running through the bottom of the steering post, and the one built in Dec. has the switch mounted in the little cup-like box on the steering post, across from the light switch box. According to the parts book, there was some change at serial # 70710. I still need to do some more checking, because i need to know before I start putting everything back togather. Maybe someone with more experience with the early Hs can give us the correct answer. ken
