M water pump pulley

Any tips on unscrewing the water pump pulley on an M to install a new fan belt? The set screw and nut came out pretty easy. Have used penetrating oil and bolt blaster for three days and pretty serious raps on the square shoulder but no progress. The threads look sharp with some overspray. I don't want to pound too hard on the cast. Anyway to lock the fan so pulley won't turn when struck? Thanks for any help. Dick Davis
