Hey Jon, The rebuild went pretty well for my first time It think. As you may recall, like you, I put on a SA head and cam. I also put in a SA flywheel and clutch that will,I hope, better handle the greater HP and torque. Just for kicks I ported and polished the head. I had to get another crankshaft, mine had already been turned as far as it would go for standard bearings. I had the "new" shaft turned, put in all new rod, main and cam bearings. Also put in the high profile overbore, pistons. The one thing that I was glad I did was rebuild the oil pump. Put in new NOS gears all around, flattened the cover, new relief valve and spring. I have between 68 and 70 psi regardless of temp or speed. I did have a little scar relative to oil pressure. I bought all new OEM gauges correct for my year tractor. They were pretty, but the oil gauge didn't work! Of course I was going nuts when I couldn't get oil pressure. In one of my rare "smart" moments I put the old guage on instead of tearing the whole rebuild down (which I almost did - I mean you just expect new from the box to work). The only thing I didn't get right was the rear seal - I have a small leak when she is running. I think I'm going to live with it for a while before I split her and replace it. I wonder if there is some trick to ensure these dont leak? Boy, she is monster now! Not the same tractor. I just finshed putting on new fenders and finally got the pulley refurbished and installed. With exception of lights and a new seat, she looks like she just cam off the showroom floor. I'll get pics to you soon. Keep me posted on your project, I want to hear all about it.

In the early 1950s my father bought an Allis Chalmers B and I used it for all the row crop work with the mangolds and potatoes, rolling and the haymaking on our farm. The farm and the Allis were sold and I have spent a lifetime working on farms throughout the country. I promised myself that one day I would own an Allis. That time event
