farmall 460 diesel

I have a 460 diesel, its a great tractor, other than the engine, it has always started hard but i"ve lived with that, now its not running on all 6 cylinders, sounds a little like a 2 cyl. JD at an idle, is that engine worth rebuilding? or are the some other engines out there that would work realitivly easy? I have limited money but i need it to feed my cows. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I live in southern michigan if someone has any ideas of a good place to get a different engine or rebuild parts. thanks for reading! todd
