I've recently restored my Father-in-law's 140 and am real interested in determining they correct year of this tractor before I put decals on it. I have researched this site as well as others to try and determine the correct year and come with conflicting results. The ID label reads 3173 J. I think this puts it at 1959-1960, but according to the pictures I've seen of these years they have a rounded radiator shroud. This one has the squared off shroud with the white grill inset. It has the "IH" emblem on the gill too. It was a 6 volt that has been converted. I have casting numbers and pictures of the tractor that I can email if it would help. I also bought the suggested book by Fay and Kraushaar. Any help with this will greatly be appreciated. jf
