I have acquired a 1950 Farmall Cub gas engine that runs very well for a period of time and then over 3-10 second it sputters and or just stops. I've checked fuel immediate after stop and fuel flows freely to carb. Have checked and reset timing as per manuals. Electrical system is not complete and has a 12v positive ground battery connected. Mag/distributor appears original equip. However, it has a 12v wire direct from the starter solenoid to the distributor. I do not see any resistor in the systen and I know that this was an original 6v system. Could this cause my problems?
