H, transmission gear replacement... 1/2 way there

heya fellas, I have the top cover off,
removed belly pump,
unbolted the drive shaft coupling at the tranny, ...ummm now what? I cannot logically determine my next move. My goal is to replace the top gears. must I pull a bearing and assembly out the front of the tranny to remove the top rod in the tranny? please help, details would be much appreciated. aaron
