PF, In cases where you upgrade from 6 to 12 volts but still use a 6 volt starter, they can work fine for years buttttttttt they can indeed have one super strong kick in torque. However, as my friend Old mentioned yours may have just been bad to begin with????? If you take it back under warranty you might NOT wanna mention youre using 12 volts on a 6 volt starter if thats what youre doing lol.......... If you had the starter rebuilt as a 12 then there shouldnt have been any problem and the bendix ought to have been fine provided the starter n ring gear n all is in line and mounted tight etc. Sure all is mounted n aligned n tight????
