Yes the 152 can be taken to 164. Most have been. Maybe the original block froze and busted or anything could have happened to it. It will be fine with the engine you have. If it runs good and has enough power to suit your needs I would leave it be. Could be a power unit. Not really up on all the prefixes and don't have a chart for them.
