I have a 1956 400 sn 29785 and was wondering if this was a 12v or a 6v system. It was converted to a 12v altenator, but I'm planning on switching it back to the genorator. My grandfather, previous owner, said he had problems with the genorator burning up all the time. He said he put new regulators on it but didn't help any. Has anybody had this problem. Thanks for any help. Jon from NE KS.
