Now I have another issue. I was cutting yesterday and verything was going just fine. I may have been cutting for maybe three or four hours, engine running perfect, govenor working perfect, etc.
I stop to disengage the PTO then as I release the clutch to move forward it died. I cranked and used the choke, etc, nothing.
Wait for a few minutes and the she fires up. hop on, put it in gear then let off the clutch and just as you heard the engine take the load it died.
Checked the valves, I'm still at .014" so thats good.
I checked to see if the timing looked right, rotated number 1 up to TDC on compression stroke, popped the cap, rotor is pointing to #1. Can't be timing I'd think, besides its a gear drive, I would have heard something before it konked out.
I pulled my distributor because I noticed about 3/8" rotational play back and forth. Looks like the pin that holds the gear has a little slack, not sheared but a little wiggle. I dont know if this is an issue but if so please let me know.
Could it be the valves not seating??????? I'm thinking of pulling the head and re-lapping the valves. Its a fresh head rebuilt by myself. All new valves and hardened seats. I'm thinking that maybe I didn't lap them well enough?????
