I asked a question a while back about how I can wire my '44 H without the VR and the generator in the loop, just so I can get it running. Here is what Bob M said:
Bob M said: To wire the ignition, simply run a wire from the ammeter terminal that's NOT connected to the batterr. Run this wire to either terminal on the ignition switch. Run a 2nd wire from the other ign switch terminal to the coil primary terminal that's NOT connected to the distributor. That's it! As long as you've got a charged battery the tractor can now be started and run.
I looked at his diagram for the 6v system with a cutout relay and distributor. But it's confusing me.
I'll tell you how I think I'm supposed to wire this, and you tell me if I'm right or wrong, and what to correct:
Positive battery cable to ground.
Negative battery cable directly to the starter.
A 10 gauge wire from the starter to the starter button.
A 10 gauge wire from the other terminal of the starter button to the ammeter.
A 10 guage wire from the ammeter to the pull on/push off switch.
A 14 gauge wire from the pull on/push off switch to the ignition coil.
A 14 gauge wire from the ignition coil to the distributer.
That doesn't seem right to me because I've seen battery cables run directly up to the starter button. But I don't really see that on the wiring diagram, which is why I'm confused.
