Hi All , The tranny rebuild is moving along slowly . I ended up removing the final drive too . The bearings in the differential and bull pinions appear by the part numbers on them to be the factory installed bearings from 1947 . They are all pretty well worn out , rust pitted and loose . It'll be a few weeks till the budget allows for another $500 worth of bearings . I did get the reverse idler bushings installed and reamed to size and put back in the tractor as well as the lower shaft . I also replaced the pto pilot bushing and honed it to size . I warped the input shaft seal putting it in the bearing retainer last night so I'm waiting on a new seal ( Dumb mistake from being in a hurry to get home ) . Now I'm almost at a standstill for a while till I get bearings for the final drive . More later . BTW If anyone has a belly pump drive for the front of the lower shaft that's in very good shape I'd be interested in buying it . Thanks ! ...Randy
