Dear Pandora, I read you post from Dec 2008 I think where you mention a possible loose fitting #4 sleeve upon rebuild and was wondering how you made out? I have a 1962 farmall diesel row crop and in October 2000 it broke #1 sleeve and was in a thousand pieces in oil pan. It took us a while to diagnose by checking cylinder psi through glow plug holes - all were 350 psi except #1 was zero. We knew something was wrong but funny thing it still ran ok on 3 cylinders. The #1 cylinder wall was scored some and I sanded rough spots, but the +0.002" sealed power sleeves I purchased all fit tight except #1. The #1 connecting rod was also bent slightly so I bought a reconditioned rod for $50. Well the tractor ran great until this past Sunday when we started for the first time after winter, the starter would go fast then slow but we got it started and warmed up but there is a metal noise and I fear the #1 sleeve broke again. When I ordered you could get +.005 and +0.010" over-size sleeves - this time if it is not too trashed I was thinking of getting one of them and honing wall and install with block hardener or JB weld to hopefully fill the voids but worry the sleeve will push out when I insert. I hope you had success as they are a nice running tractor with plenty of power for their size. Thanks, Todd
