Farmall M lost gears

Anyone know what would cause a Farmall 1950 M to stop moving while going up the road in fifth gear? As a matter of fact non of the gears work. They all feel like nuetral. No prior warning, no noise, no jerking around etc. It does have an M&W clutch on it with the handle gone for some time by the looks of it. I have left it alone since I got the tractor because I haven't had a gear problem. Thanks for any help. I do have all the manuals for this M. Thanks Again, Bart in Vt.
