It appears that the reason the T/A is nonfunctional is that the T/A pressure plate never lifts off the clutch disk. On closer inspection, the pressure plate cover is always tight against the raised bosses ( where the three compression bolts thread in ) on the pressure plate friction disk. In other words the pressure plate springs are already compressed without the throwout bearing touching the fingers.
Does anyone know the correct distance between the face of the lifting fingers and the friction surface, with the T/A pressure plate installed ?
