I"m rebuilding the carb on my IH 300 and noticed what looks to be a small homemade sheetmetal piece on the Choke Plate small opening, it is held on with a sheetmetal screw. I have several manuals but neither shows this clearly. Carb has a brass button marked 361525R92.
What is the function of this small opening? What should be on this choke plate opening? Where can I get one?
After cleaning the carb I noted it had some paint on it. Was the carb originally painted? If so, what would be a good paint to use?
Is there a good manual that shows this carb and all components?
