: I have never had one work but I have broken off a couple in the hole. If the bolt is so tight that it sheared off while torquing, it will be so tight that the easyout will break. Don't waste your time with them. Just drill out the hole as others have described, and if you're lucky the thread will be OK. If not, helicoil it. ::: Lies? Them some pretty strong words partner. But ponder this if you can. A bolt breaks off when over torquing, because the tensile strength of the bolt has been exceeded. Once the head pops off, the stress is removed, if the hole is good and clean, the remainder can be removed with your fingers if you could get a hold of it. Beware of insults, I could call you a idiot, it would true, but it wouldn't be polite. Thats why I wouldn't stoop to that level. But then again?
