Finished first cutting grass hay in early June. Put about 150 under cover and left the rest out in field, they looked good and smelled good until about two days ago. We have had showers but no heavy rain until this past week. Have sold about 200 and have 100 sitting where they dropped. I twine tied some and net wrapped the rest, the net wrapped ones are heating and getting moldy, the twine tied seem to be just sunburnt on edges no mold, the ones in the shed look like the day we put them in. Why would the net wrap seem to wick in moisture? We always twine tied and never bothered with net wrap until last year and the same thing happened. Baled with a JD466 if that matters. Bale size 4x5, weigh about 900#, am I missing something?
