Hey:
Brand spankin' new to this board and have an issue with my 67 Ford 3400 series 740 backhoe attachment. I broke one of the backhoe swing chains. Looking around, there appears to be 2 chains, my broken one is on the right side as you face forward. it snapped while I was winding up trying to bang a stump loose. Replacements seem to be $250+/- and I was hoping to just repair it with a new "master link" kind of thing. Don't seem to make that kind of thing. I also need to take it apart but the right cylinder has retracted into the base and I can't get it out. I also can't seem to get at where the chain attaches to the swing base. I have just ordered the repair manuals for the 3400, the 750 BH and the loader, but won't see thoes for a while.
Can I get a repair link? can I find a used chain? how do you manuver the cylinder to it's fully extedned position? and how do you get the chain off of the swing base? Not too complicated for a first post :)
