gas prices in America

As I was watching CNN last night, I noticed that the topic was one of which is disturbing to me in this time of tragedy....Price Gouging at the pumps. It is amazing to me that some people have no compassion and are simply there to make a buck. Makes you wonder if they are even Americans. I had better stop before I write a book. I am planning a trip from Texas to Wisconsin this weekend (9-14-01) to pick up a sickle mower and I was wondering if any of you red-blooded Americans out there could let me know what the prices are. I will be going thru OK, MO, IL, and WI. I don't feel like spending $5 per gal or more. Thanks in advance and God Bless America. Paul Smith

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
