I have been in my Hobby shop tearing down a 239 International engine off a 1974 I.H. farm tractor. What I thought was yesterdays as I read in the shop book that the connection rods can go out of round. I was thinking to take to the town machine shop and them checked but there is only on in town. He told me he does not work on tractor engines. I guess they are different than a car engine L.O.L. (he has said) If you see the picture you can see this person who had owned this tractor made a three cylinder diesel out of a 4 by throwing a connecting rod out of the engine. The crank shaft is gone because of the beating it took, the cam shaft looks like it is salvageable and reusable. I got another block from All state tractors. If I look at these bearings on these connecting rods on the wear would they show me if they are round and not out of round. this person threw the #3 piston rod completely out of the block. If the crankshaft took a beating how munch of a stress isue can the connecting rods take in order to stay round? the balance gear is all jawed up and the balancer is crew up in gears and gone to.
